As of this coming school year, a new Texas law, HB 1942 redefines bullying. Part of this definition includes bullying by electronic means, also known as cyber bullying. One of the possible punishments established by this new law allows a school to change the bully’s class within the school.
This bill was passed in 2011 and created by Republican Representative Diane Patrick. Her Senate Sponsor was Leticia Van de Putte.
