Mookie Jones, shooting guard from Syracuse University, announced he was ending his career as a member of the university basketball team. Jones had been suspended from the university in January 2012 following allegations of cyber bullying. A female student at Syracuse University accused Jones of posting “unflattering characterizations” of her on his Facebook page. The woman, who was involved in a relationship with Jones at the time, also claimed he was harassing her via text messages. Jones had previously been in trouble with the university over comments he made on Twitter. In December 2010 Jones became upset when local DJ Danny Parkinsreposted some of Jones’s Twitter comments. According to the Orange Fizz, the Syracuse University news website, Jones had not been a team player even when he was able to participate.
