A Florida mobile developer teamed with Stand for the Silent Foundation to create a preventative application to curb cyber bullying.
The application, called Halt – Social Monitor, is designed to let parents monitor their child’s social media accounts, allowing them to catch their child in the act of being bullied or bullying others.
William Stark is the developer behind this innovative project. He teamed up with Stand for the Silent Foundation’s Kirk Smalley, who is the father in the 2011 documentary “Bully,” which told the story of his 11-year-old son who committed suicide after being cyber-bullied.
“At the end of the day, you can ask yourself, ‘Would a child post this, if they knew the first person to see it would be their parents?’ this is the idea behind Halt,” Stark stated.
The application is free to download in the iTunes store.
