In Freeport, Illinois, instances of cyber bullying seem to be increasing. No longer are only a couple of kids being targeted, but now, a local representative estimates that dozens of children in the town are targeted by cyber bullying.
“It just needs to stop,” said a woman whose sister has been one of many Freeport High School graduates being cyber bullied on Twitter. Words have a strong effect on individuals, and cyber bullying leads to a strong negative effect on the victims. Cyber bullying is occurring everywhere, and Freeport, Illinois represents a microcosm of the problem spreading across the nation.
