Anti-Virus Company McAfee conducted a survey among 500 children and 496 parents in 10 cities of India. The survey produced staggering results.
Some of these results include:
12% of children admitted to being victims of cyber bullying or online intimidation.
20% of parents are unaware of the existence of cyber bullying, nonetheless if it is happening to their children.
42% of children are not open to their parents about their online activities.
It is clear that cyber bullying is not just a national epidemic, but a worldwide issue. Parents and educators must take the extra step to do everything in their power to bring an end to cyber bullying.
