Recent studies have shown the dangers of cyber bullying to both the child and the parent. An annual study conducted by software company, McAfee, found that over 9 out of 10 teenagers have witnessed cyber bullying on Facebook, but only 1 out of 10 parents are aware of cyber bullying. It is clear that more parents need to be educated about the dangers of cyber bullying.
Two Wisconsin groups took the initiative to teach parents about cyber bullying this past week. Gundersen Lutheran along with Kohl’s Cares Kids Care College hosted the event at Northstar Middle School. Among the speakers was Pediatrician Dr. Kelly Hodgson Kline. Dr. Kline spoke with parents and teachers about the signs of cyber bullying.
