A few weeks ago, yet another teen, was admitted to the hospital for depression and suicidal intentions resulting from relentless cyberbullying. After seeing her daughter’s Facebook page, Laura was shocked by the multitude of derogatory comments on it. Over the past six months, countless insulting messages, ranging from “You dress like a slut” and “Can I f— you before you die?”, were posted on the North Vancouver fifteen year old’s page through ask.fm .Laura once commented, that ask.fm allows teens to “think they’re in a magic bubble ” In fact, so much so that “They’ve lost that sense of reality. They’ve lost empathy.” she said. As she urged other parents to protect their children from cyberbullying, Laura stated, “There is nothing good that comes from this site (ask.fm).”
