The X Factor’s Jesy Nelson has chosen to speak out about her experience with cyber bullying. The 20-year-old singer in the British girl band Little Mix was seen in tears on a recent episode of the X Factor after she read cruel comments about her weight on the Internet. She said, “When you’ve got your own insecurities and then people write them on websites for everyone to see, it just makes you feel really rubbish.”
She said that she knew she would get picked on after seeing it happen to other girl bands. “But it’s not until you actually see it that it hits you. I thought I’d be alright and then I saw it and just burst out crying.” Jesy was shocked to find that comments on a YouTube video of one of her band’s performances singled her out. Jesy added that she found it even harder to cope with because she had been bullied in school. She told reporters, “When’s it going to stop? People shouldn’t be allowed to do things like that. I think whoever called me that should feel bad about it.”
