On May 10, 2013, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced that Canada is looking to criminalize cyberbullying. Prime Minister Harper states that the Internet is necessary for the growth of the world, but is also out to harm others. Young people become extremely vulnerable.
After the deaths of two teenage girls, caused by suicide, the Canadian government held a conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba with the parents of the two deceased girls to discuss their views of legislation and about the future of cyberbullying.
