In light of increasing concerns over school bullying, California’s Burbank Unified School District has reestablished a hotline for students to report any abuse they may have witnessed or experienced themselves. Burbank school officials have printed 1,000 fliers with a phone number and email to place in every classroom in the district when school starts up this week. The hotline was last operable in 2006 and has been six months in the works, coming after cyber-bullying laws were enacted in California. “The Burbank Unified School District is committed to keeping our students safe and preserving a positive educational environment for all,” the district said. School officials also say they will investigate every incident reported through the system.
